Plans are coming together for our Tent Revival, April 1-5. Go to the web site www.northacres.org/revival for more information. Here is some information about the people who will be leading us. Bill Britt will be our Evangelist. Bill was raised in Haughton and now lives in Tennessee. For 22 years he has been serving the Lord as a full-time evangelist speaking all over the world. Taken from the verse "Go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in that my house may be filled," the purpose of Bill's COMPEL Ministry is to win souls and change lives. Evangelist Bill Britt's message exalts Christ and is Biblically centered. Phillip Willis will be our Music Evangelist. Phillip is from Baton Rouge. He also is in full-time evangelism singing and leading revivals all over the country. Phillip was in Minden for the Area Wide Crusade in 2002 where we enjoyed his songs and his constant smile. Special Music Guests for the Tent Revival include Wendy Britt, Gary Meggs and the Ezekiel 3:18 Band, Todd and Alicia DuBose, and Testify. Wendy Britt is the wife of our Evangelist Bill Britt. She travels and sings where Bill preaches. Gary Meggs and the Ezekiel 3:18 Band call themselves "America's Jazziest Gospel Group." They are from Monticello, Arkansas. Todd and Alicia DuBose are from First Baptist Minden and are a blessing to our community. Testify has been with us before. From West Monroe, Louisiana and traveling all across the country since 1995, Testify is committed to singing about the salvation provided by Jesus Christ in a contemporary Southern Gospel style. We are in for a real treat during our Tent Revival. Pray for revival in your life, in your family, in our church, and in our community. Invite someone today to Sunday School and Worship! A Letter From The Edge 2007 has already been a great year for our youth ministry. We have already had two major outreach opportunities this year. First, we rang in the New Year with almost 60 students. (About 25 of those were visitors!) Then, we went on to have over 200 students from all over the association and even different denominations at the Jeff Capps concert February 1st at the Minden Community House. It warms my heart to see students from all denominations and churches get together to worship our Lord and Savior and that I am part of a church that supports our efforts and a group of "souled" out youth that desire to bring the gospel message to anyone and everyone. Wednesday night "UnConformed" has been rocking'! It seems that each Wednesday I see at least one new face. It is so awesome that our students are excited about what is going on in our youth group and what God has done for them that they are inviting their friends to come hangout and worship with us. I just finished a sermon series titled "Rescued from an Ordinary Life," and this Wednesday, I plan to preach about "True Love Waits." We have a TON of stuff coming up in the future. On the 24th of this month we are having our North Acres Night Out. Our youth will be serving dinner while you listen to members of the Centenary Choir serenade you. Corey Shadd has been busy planning this event in which the proceeds will help some of our youth go on a mission trip. On March 9-11th , we have Discipleship Now (D-Now as we call it). D-Now is a weekend of intense Bible study, worship, and fellowship. We are looking for several people who are willing to give their home to a small group of students plus a leader. If you are interested, please contact me and I'll give you some additional information. We also have our Tent Revival and Chicken Spaghetti Fundraiser in April, Graduation in May, Fuge in June, and Summer Retreat in July. I ask that you bathe all of these events in prayer. Also, please pray for out students. I am truly blessed to be part of a group that has so many young people who are "souled out" for Christ. Pray that God will continue to guide them in their lives. I am blessed to also have a group of youth leaders who can lead a Wednesday Night and anything else that I need help with. Our leadership team and youth group will be promoting a bunch of kids to college over the next few years. Pray that God will bring in and bring up a new crop of student leaders who are "souled out" for Jesus. Continue to pray for me and Jeannine as we work with students and help them in their growth in and love for Jesus Christ. I want to conclude in giving thanks. I want to thank you for your support of our youth, our efforts to reach out and share Christ with others, and then to disciple them in the Lord. I want to thank you for buying T-shirts, coffee, food and anything else that our kids are selling. Your generosity helps these kids to go to events and experience God. I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to bring God's word to not only students but to you also. And finally I want to thank God. To thank him for placing me in this form of service for Him, for leading and guiding me, and for being part of a wonderful church that love and support me, my family, and our kids.
